Review: Hee Kee Desserts @ Jurong Point

I know that it has been 10 days since I last posted.
The past week has been crazily busy and I finally had time to go through all my photos again~
Sorry to keep everyone waiting for a new read~

Here’s mouth-watering one!

The people at Hee Kee desserts were nice enough to have invited me back to Hee Kee twice for tasting sessions
Since I had to leave real early at the first session, I actually had another go at the sweet stuff again!
If you have been following my Facebook updates, you know that I flew off to Bangkok last Friday
& just before flying off, I made it in time to complete all the 7 desserts!

{ My OOTD }
Freshly made up and all ready to head to Jurong Point for Hee Kee!
As the location is just right across the road for me from my residential area
It’s ultimate convenience!

These will be the top desserts recomended by Hee Kee
First up,
The Traditional Steamed Milk Pudding

Available both hot and chilled

I have a tendency to just order steam milk puddings when I stumble into any Hong Kong dessert stall
Just puts me to ease and I do not have to make any decisions when looking at new menus~
Hee Kee’s steamed milk pudding is not too sweet, actually just right for me
bearing in mind that I have a sweet tooth
My benchmark of sweetness levels may be very different from yours =p

Salted Egg Yolks Glutinous Rice Balls in Osmanthus Sweet Soup

This is my favourite dish throughout!
The sweet osmanthus (gui hua in mandarin) infused broth is delectably fragrant!

Wrapped in a chewy, silky dough, this Hee Kee-exclusive creation is filled with a velvety sweet-salty yolk-custard paste
This is a combination of 2 of my most craved foods
Tang yuan and Liu Sha
(Glutinous rice balls and salted yolk custard)

Having the custard burst out of the glutinous rice balls in your mouth is just heavenly~

Whole Coconut with Coconut Ice Cream and peanut crush

An iconic tropical fruit made into a refreshing dessert with rich coconut ice cream and fresh coconut flesh, topped off with crushed peanuts for a light crunch.

I’m not a big fan of coconuts
but the coconut ice cream surprised me totally
it was actually GOOD!

This would be one of the main signature dessert from Hee Kee
The Mango Cheong Fun
S$3.30 per piece

A huge chunk of mango wrapped up with cold-skinned cheong fun…

The cheong fun is an envelope of spongy sweet-coconut infused skin with its inside filled with a voluptuous mango chunk for a bouncy bite that will make you hanker for more than just one helping!

This was actually a “bonus” dish
As I didn’t really touch the coconut dish earlier, Hee Kee served me with a mango sago
That’s really thoughtful though I am pretty much overdose with desserts by then
I still had a good mouthfuls of this!

Chunks of mangoes were just extremely juicy and I really wonder where they got their supplies from…

And here comes the durian!!

Durian Pancake
S$3.30 per piece

I could smell it from a thousand miles away
An acquired taste, I first had this in Sai Kung
The ORIGINAL Honeymoon dessert stall in Hong Kong 10 years ago
These days, the durian pancakes are very much more light weighted in terms of the cream used

You can be sure that you’re not just eating cream, and the rich durian puree is good enough to satisfy you

This is the last dish of the day

Durian Sauce with Sago

Made to satiate the year-round craving for fans of the King of Fruits, and an interesting twist for those of usual sago desserts. Smooth and creamy durian sauce, topped up with fresh durian flesh and a generous serving of sago for a satisfying treat.

I was honestly amazed at how generous Hee Kee was with the serving portion of the durian puree!
It’s so much that I declare the picture on their menu is a total misrepresentation!
The menu is too humble and it requires my pictures instead!
