Preparing for the Winter Trip
Guess what’s in my beauty pack?
The most important part of my ritual for a hydrated skin in this dry and crushed winter
My nightly overnight sleeping mask!
Arimino Hair Wax
The one hair styling wax I can’t live without…
Body Shop Body Butter
I literally bathed in it.. soaking myself up in butter
Fancl Cleaning Oil
Make up remover
Neutrogena Facial scrub
That’s not what I use on a daily basis, out of convenience, I snugged it in
SunSilk Hair Serum
The weather untamed my hair
Gotta make it manageable again with the serum!
Body Shop Lip Balm
I was just halfway through my trip and that was how much body butter I used…
Nuxe Hand cream
given to me through BLACKBOX
The hydrating fogging machine by the bedside
2 dozens of heat packs!
I know… It’s just too crazy but they came in very handy
I used an average of 3 packs a day~
NEW YEAR’S EVE
31st December 2013
After a thorough search online
knowing the places to go for a great NYE party,
I settled for 798 Space
It’s supposed to be the PARTY of THE YEAR
where 2000 admission tickets have been sold!
798 Space is situated in the art district where in daylight, the warehouse exhibits art pieces
& just for this special day, the organizers turned it into a massive club!
Caught up with a Uni Mate Mr KB
who I always happen to bump into whenever I’m in China,
not that common in Singapore though
The mood was impressive!
check out my video of the CountDown
This was the crazy mass of people trying their best to reach the lady sitting behind a box
so that they can deposit their jackets
Seriously…. just hold your coats!
What’s wrong with that? over wasting time queuing up and fighting just to get them deposited
knowing that you have to go through that very same brainless process to get your jacket back
The party crowd was amazing!
Music was so good, drove everyone to their suave dance moves!
Last Day in Beijing
After the year end party,
I crashed in bed for half the day~
waking up restless
decided to catch a movie!
I was thrilled to be walking into the new APM mall in Beijing City
but the display screen of the movie timings totally didn’t fit the modern decor of the mall
It’s still an old school system and thank god I read Chinese very well!
@ the ticket counter, where the snaking queue was totally not moving,
it’s probably a common sight to see men nudging you and checking if you wanna skip the queue and purchase your movie tickets from them instead
at a premium of course..
The last place to visit before boarding the plane back to Singapore:
Dong Hua Men Mei Shi Fang Ye Shi
The Food Street Night Market
I’m not sure if this was a deep fried tarantula..
All these insects were brutally deep fried!
Poor Star Fishes
This was finally something normal!
Looks like overfed crabs
The gross oil used to deep fried the insects
another kind of scorpion
Your buffet spread of creepy crawlies
Super cute buns in assorted designs!
They’re just plain flour bread inside, but too cute to eat!
I got myself some flour balls with condensed milk
totally not adventurous with creepy crawlies
I would like to board my flight with a safe tummy
This is how they prepare a cooked pigeon for you…
I think these are the silk worms?
Always bustling with tourists and even the locals get their tummies filled along the food street
The food street closes at 9pm
With a bubble tea in hand, I brought myself to the airport!
Thank you for following me through my Beijing + Xi’an trip
that I’ve wrote in 3 installments!
